1. What are the specific health check requirements for a work permit application?
Based on Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health guiding health examinations, foreign workers applying for work permits must undergo a general health examination that includes:
- Physical examination: height, weight, BMI calculation, pulse rate, blood pressure, etc.
- Clinical examination: general internal medicine examination (respiratory, circulatory, digestive, musculoskeletal, neurological, psychiatric, urinary systems); surgery, gynecology (for females); ophthalmology; otorhinolaryngology, stomatology; dermatology.

2. Where can I get a health certificate?
Not all medical facilities are qualified to conduct health examinations for foreign workers applying for work permits. Foreigners must have their health examinations conducted at medical facilities specified in Official Letter 143/KCB-PHCN&GĐ on updating and supplementing the list of facilities qualified to conduct health examinations for foreign workers in Vietnam as stipulated in Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT dated December 31 2023, to ensure accurate and valid examination results.

In cases where the foreign worker and the examining doctor do not share a common language, an interpreter with sufficient qualifications as prescribed by the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment must be present.
