From March 1, 2025, the processing of criminal records in Vietnam will undergo a significant change. Instead of submitting applications to the Department of Justice, Vietnamese citizens and foreigners will submit applications to the Provincial/City Police Department where they reside. • Criminal record certificate application form: The form will be available at the Provincial/City Police Department or on their electronic information portal.
• Certified copy Passport
• Proof of residence: Temporary residence registration
• Other documents (if any): Depending on specific cases, additional documents may be required.

  

   

4. Implementation Process

• Application submission: Submit the application at the reception desk of the Provincial/City Police Department where you reside.
• Reception and verification: The receiving officer will check the completeness and validity of the application.
• Processing and verification: The police agency will verify the information and process the application.
• Result delivery: Receive the criminal record certificate at the application submission location or via postal service (if registered).
