Thailand Officially Launches Global Electronic Visa System from 2025
Apply for an E-Visa Online at 94 Thai Embassies and Consulates Worldwide
During a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on December 17, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa confirmed that the e-visa system will be simultaneously implemented across 94 Thai diplomatic missions globally.
According to Mr. Worawoot Pongprapapant, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, instead of visiting an embassy in person to queue and submit paper documents, travelers can conveniently and securely apply for a visa online through www.thaievisa.go.th. Visa fee payments will also be made easier via the Kasikorn Bank system.
Important Notes on Applying for a Thai E-Visa
- Some countries may still be required to present a payment receipt at the embassy or consulate.
- Once the application is approved, a digital copy of the e-visa will be sent via email, streamlining procedures and saving time.
Visa Exemption for Citizens of 93 Countries
Currently, travelers from 93 countries can stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa under the visa exemption policy.
Vietnamese citizens are eligible for a 60-day visa exemption if entering by air and 15 days if entering by land.
